Fantasy Analysis
Jared Spurgeon has six points over the last five games and is a plus-6 over that span. The crafty blueliner has 11 of his season's 13 points in March and has been steady with his production. (Updated 3/30/13).
05/10/2013 00:19 Blackhawks cruise to series win over Minnesota
Marian Hossa scored twice to back a strong effort by goalie Corey Crawford, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild 5-1 Thursday night to win their first-round playoff series 4-1.
04/30/2013 23:51 Blackhawks outlast Wild in Game 1 on Bickell's OT goal
Bryan Bickell scored in overtime on a two-on-one rush, and the Chicago Blackhawks started the playoffs on a winning note after dominating the regular season, beating the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Tuesday night.
A slick-passer and undersized for your typical NHL defenseman, Jared Spurgeon has potential to put up solid numbers from the Minnesota blue line. He notched 23 points in 70 games last year and will turn just 23 in November. He wont score many goals, but he has the chance to challenge 30 points this season should he -- and not Tom Gilbert -- settle in on Minnesotas top power play unit opposite Ryan Suter. Follow them in camp and target Spurgeon in the later rounds of deep leagues. Just dont expect him to anchor your rosters defensive scoring. (Updated 8/14/12)
