Fantasy Analysis
Matt Duchene has re-estalbished himself as one of the league's talented younger players after an abysmal 2011 campaign. He has 43 points through 46 games in the lockout-shortened season and rewarded owners who took advantage of his lower price. Look for him to continue this production into next season - just be aware that the Avs might not be the best boon for his plus-minus. Be ready to draft Duchene early next season. (Updated 4/27/13).
04/27/2013 00:56 Avalanche beat Coyotes in possibly final game in desert
Matt Duchene scored in a shootout and had three assists, helping the Colorado Avalanche beat Phoenix 5-4 Friday night in what may be the Coyotes' final home game in the desert.
Matt Duchene missed a huge chunk of last season to knee and ankle injuries, playing just 58 games and scoring 28 points (14G, 14A), falling well short of the 67 points he registered in his sophomore season. Assuming he comes back healthy, there's no reason to believe he can't return to being the 55-65 point player he was in his first two seasons. Remember at just 21 years of age, Duchene has yet to hit his prime and should only continue to get better. After last season, many of your fellow fantasy owners will have dropped him a few spots on their depth charts, so be prepared to pick him up on the cheap. (Updated 8/14/12)
