With three weeks left in the NHL season, it's becoming more important to stay on top of the trends. Brian Rutherford helps with his look at this week's schedule.
Richard Bachman began last year in the minors, but found himself in the NHL with an early-season injury to Kari Lehtonen. He proceeded to outplay then-backup Andrew Raycroft and served as the backup going forward upon Lehtonen's return. He posted an 8-5 record and 2.77 goals against average in that role. Jack Campbell is the likely heir apparent to Lehtonen in a few years, but Campbell's inconsistent play as a pro should have Bachman as the backup in Dallas for at least the next year.
