ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Ryan Getzlaf scored with 5.2 seconds left in overtime, Jonas Hiller made 31 saves in an emergency start to get his 18th career shutout, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0 on Friday night.
Bolts' Barberio Returns To Ice
Barberio (upper body) logged 18:11 worth of ice time in Thursday's loss to the Sharks. The defenseman didn't report any setbacks after the game and will presumably be a lineup mainstay moving forward. He's a scarce contributor on the offensive end, earning most of his fantasy value in the form of TOI, hits and blocks.
Bolts' Barberio: Left Arm Injury?
Barberio's (upper body) injury is thought to be to his left arm as he was on the ice on Saturday morning holding his stick using just his right hand, reports the Tampa Tribune. The offensive-minded defender has two helpers in eight games. Keep him benched -- this could be a hand or wrist injury. He may return, but both of those types of injuries will impair his ability to put up points.
Lightning's Barberio To Sit Out Saturday
Barberio (upper body) will not play Saturday vs. the Coyotes, Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reports.Barberio wasn't expected to suit up Saturday after he failed to take part in Friday's practice. Fortunately, the Bolts will get Sami Salo back from injury Saturday night, so the team should still be well-equipped to match up against the Coyotes' quality offensive attack.
Bolts' Barberio Misses Practice Friday
Barberio missed Friday's practice with an undisclosed injury, Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The team called Barberio's day off a "maintenance day," so it sounds likely that he'll still be able to play Saturday. Barberio was sidelined for the final 12 minutes of Thursday's win over the Ducks due to the injury, but it may have just been as a precaution since the Lightning were enjoying a big lead at the time.
|A bit of the shine has come off this former Eddie Shore Award winner (AHL's best defender). His game hasn't taken a nose dive by any means. But it hasn't grown a lot, either. He is the epitome of a true power-play quarterback -- average shot, but able to find lanes while playing a man up, all while being defensively suspect. The latter isn't a big deal in fantasy and given the Bolt's desperate need for offense on the back end, Mark Barberio's time is soon. He might not break with the team this season, but he'll get called up a couple times. Monitor the wire for those moments -- the points will come given the potency of the Bolts' attack.
