04/28/2013 01:08 Yakupov has hat trick in Oilers' romp over Canucks
Nail Yakupov scored his first career hat trick and the Edmonton Oilers closed out their season with a 7-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
04/17/2013 00:31 Brodziak scores pair as Wild skate past Oilers
Kyle Brodziak scored a pair of goals, and the Minnesota Wild earned another late-season win by topping the Edmonton Oilers 5-3 on Tuesday night.
Magnus Paajarvi had to be one of the biggest disappointments for the Oilers last season. After convincing him to play in North America for the 2010-11 season and watching him score 15 goals and 19 assists, the team watched those numbers plummet to a mere two goals and six assists last year and sent him to the minors. He should be the Oil's third-line left winger this year which should see him improve his numbers, but perhaps only to the 30-point plateau. Push that up a little if they choose to use him on their second power-play unit. (Updated 8/14/12)
