He benefited from the Kings' shut-down defense, as the visitors from Long Island were only able to muster 16 shots on the night.The Kings now have a wonderful problem, in that they apparently have two excellent backup goalies in Jones and Ben Scrivens. Neither is at all likely to permanently displace injured starter Jonathan Quick, but in the meantime, Los Angeles fans are enjoying an embarassment of goaltending riches.

Martin Jones made 26 saves and stopped all nine shootout attempts to win his NHL debut, and Dwight King scored the only shootout goal Tuesday night in the Los Angeles Kings' 3-2 victory against the Anaheim Ducks.

Jones will make his first career start Tuesday against the Ducks, Jon Rosen of LAKingsInsider.com reports.Jones could be in store for a difficult debut going against the Ducks on their home ice, where they own a 10-0-1 record on the season. The 23-year-old was recalled from AHL Manchester on Nov. 13 but hasn't seen any ice time with Ben Scrivens staying hot during his 11 starts in place of the injured Jonathan Quick.
