Fantasy Analysis
Casey Wellman will go to the Rangers' AHL affiliate. The 24-year-old center has 13 points (4G, 9A) in 41 career NHL games. 01/13/2012 09:50 Neutral Zone Wrap: Injuries taking their toll
The injuries are starting to pile up and keeping track of your options is turning into a chore. Evan Berofsky clears a path for you in his weekly Neutral Zone Wrap.
Wellman's career path has been anything but conventional. The 23-year-old went undrafted and jumped directly from college (Umass-Amherst) to the NHL (Minnesota) in 2009-10. Then, last season, he split time between the Wild and AHL Houston, posting two points in 15 games with the big club, and 35 points (14 G , 21 A) in 42 minor league contests. He has decent upside handling the puck, but is merely a depth option getting a feel for the pro game. (Updated 10/4/11)
