Fantasy Analysis
Nino Niederreiter does have a gripe with how he is being used, playing less than 10 minutes a game, playing with offensively challenged teammates, and even being a healthy scratch for a handful of games. One would think that a team at the bottom of the conference would want to see what they have in their 2010 first-round draft pick. (Updated 03/17/2012).
02/07/2012 22:08 Nabokov zips Flyers; Isles take shootout
Evgeni Nabokov made 45 saves and Frans Nielsen and John Tavares scored on Ilya Bryzgalov in a shootout, helping the New York Islanders beat the Philadelphia Flyers 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Niederreiter was the Isles' first-round pick in 2010, and he played nine games with the team last season before they sent him back to his junior team for more experience. It proved to be the correct move as Niederreiter scored 36 goals and 61 points in 49 games. It would be an upset if he didn't begin this season with the Islanders, so expect to see him the third line to start the new campaign. He could be moved up once his play warrants such a promotion.
