Fantasy Analysis
Ice time has been hard to come by for the rookie under interim coach Todd Richards, and his production has cratered as a result. If he gets a look on a scoring line though (Sunday's assist came while he was on the ice with Cam Atkinson and Mark Letestu) he could have some value down the stretch. (Updated 03/12/2012).
03/11/2012 22:33 Blues defeat Jackets for fifth straight
Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves, and David Perron broke a tie early in the third period to help the NHL-leading St. Louis Blues beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 on Sunday night for their season-high fifth straight victory.
The Blue Jackets' top prospect and fourth overall pick in 2010 exploded in his final season junior eligibility, racking up 40 goals and 92 points in 63 WHL games while also making an impact in the world junior championships. He could be faster on his skates, but Johansen has size, skill and vision, and stands a good chance of breaking camp with the big club this season. He won't be on a scoring line and a slow start wouldn't be a shock, so don't get any Calder ideas, but he's an excellent keeper candidate for '12-'13. (Updated 10/4/11)
