Blue Jackets' Nikitin Suffers Lower-Body Injury
Nikitin left Monday's game with a lower-body injury and will not return, Rob Mixer of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.Nikitin was on a roll heading into Monday's contest, with three points in his previous two games. Prior to exiting, he registered two PIM and a plus-one rating for the night.
|Nikita Nikitin wasn't able to repeat his breakout 2011-12 season, looking more like the inconsistent player the Blues gave up on, and the dropoff had to be at least partially due to not being partnered with the unflappable Fedor Tyutin. With young defensemen like Tim Erixon and Ryan Murray pushing for ice time, Nikitin will need to rebound if he wants to keep a regular shift. (Updated 8/12/13) |
