Fantasy Analysis
This seems to be one of those situations where a change of scenery is needed. Linus Omark has never quite fit in with the Oilers and although the team is expected to extend a qualifying offer before the deadline in June, they will only be using that offer as a tactic to get a draft pick for the youngster. Teddy Purcell scored in the sixth round of a shootout and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Thursday night.
03/15/2012 01:06 Oilers snap three-game losing streak
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had a goal and an assist, Devan Dubnyk stopped 22 shots for his second shutout of the season and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0 on Wednesday to snap a three-game skid.
Omark had five goals in 51 games for the Oilers last season but is best known for his showboating shootout goal against the Lightning that may have rubbed a few people the wrong way. Omark has great hands and good skating ability but will need to show more consistency to remain in the NHL on a full-time basis. (Updated 8/16/11)
