Sabres' Pysyk Sent To AHL
Pysyk (undisclosed) was assigned to AHL Rochester on Friday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.Pysyk has been dealing with a nagging injury the last few days and will head to the AHL to recover. The team sent him there so that he can play over the Olympic break and return full strength when the team takes the ice again in February.
Sabres' Pysyk Not Expected To Play Thursday
Head coach Ted Nolan said Pysyk (undisclosed) is "hour-to-hour," but is unlikely to play Thursday, reports WGR 550 SportsRadio. It sounds like Pysyk will be a game-time decision, but don't hold your breath with Alexander Sulzer ready to go. Sulzer was activated off the IR recently but was a healthy scratch for Buffalo's game on Tuesday. Sulzer brings a little more defense to the table than Pysyk as the Sabres attempt to stop a four-game losing skid during which they've allowed 16 goals.
Sabres' Pysyk Misses Practice
Pysyk sat out Wednesday's practice with a nagging injury. There's no word on the severity of the injury, but it sounds like the blueliner should be considered day-to-day until we know more. Pysyk has one goal and five assists in 42 games on the season.
|Mark Pysyk took advantage of a banged-up Sabres blue line to make his NHL debut last season, suiting up for 19 games and recording five points. The former first-round pick likely has the inside track on breaking camp with the Sabres, but don't get too excited by his draft pedigree; he wasn't drafted for his offensive abilities..
