| Fantasy Analysis |
Savard hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 23, which is a big reason why the Bruins have struggled so much lately. He does have five assists in his last four games though, so at least he's giving his Fantasy owners something. He remains worth starting in all formats despite his lack of recent goals. Power Rankings: Dismal display for once-promising Bruins
The Bruins aren't out of the playoff hunt yet, but that's only because they are in the Eastern Conference. It's a shocking turn from last season's terrific performance, Wes Goldstein says.

| After missing eight games the previous season, Savard went the full 82-game slate in 2008-09 for the third time in the past four campaigns. While he didn’t get into the 90s like he did in his last year with Atlanta and his first season in Boston, Savard still managed to finish with 88 points, good enough for ninth in the league, a career-best plus-25 rating and a fourth straight season with 60 assists. Those numbers could be in for a boost in 2009-10, which will be a contract year for the veteran. There are rumors that management wants to ship Savard and his $5 million salary off this upcoming season, but Savard has a no-trade clause, so it won’t be simple. No matter where he ends up, Savard should be a solid low-end No. 1 Fantasy forward worth a pick in the second or third round of all drafts this September. (Updated 8/18/09) |
