Fantasy Analysis
Jamie Langenbrunner, 37, figures to undergo surgery in the coming days to repair the hip. As he's advanced in age, Langenbrunner's point totals have subsequently declined, plummeting him further downward on the Blues' depth chart. It wouldn't be particularly surprising if he elected to retire after the season with his career on a downslope. (Updated 2/9/13).
02/10/2013 10:13 NHL Daily Fix: Let the realignment talk start up again

02/09/2013 23:53 Fasth holds on as Ducks dust off Blues in shootout
Viktor Fasth stopped three of six shootout attempts to become the first NHL goalie in eight years to win his first five starts, and Bobby Ryan had two goals and two assists as the Anaheim Ducks beat the struggling St. Louis Blues 6-5 on Saturday night.
01/31/2013 22:02 Blues jump on Blue Jackets, improve to 6-1
Barret Jackman, Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Tarasenko each scored in the opening 14 minutes, Brian Elliott made 24 saves and the St. Louis Blues won their fourth straight game with a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
Jamie Langenbrunner re-signed with the Blues in the offseason to return to a support role, and is likely slated for third-line duty. Despite what turned out to be a relatively minor role last season, Langenbrunner wore an "A" on his sweater and will likely retain that in 2012-13. He was an important team presence when the Blues transitioned to head coach Ken Hitchcock in early November. Hitchcock said he'd like to give Langenbrunner a bigger role if he re-signed, but it's hard to see what that bigger role might be as the Blues are loaded with young talent in the top six. He posted 24 points last season and we're not seeing much more from the 37-year-old this year. (Updated 8/14/12)
