| Fantasy Analysis |
The Flames have been awful of late, and Langkow isn't exactly helping out Calgary's cause. Unless he picks up the pace, he is on track to have his worst season in a long, long time. Bench him in the majority of leagues until he's back producing at his usual level. (Updated 02/02/2010).

| Even with the arrival of Michael Cammalleri last season, veteran center Daymond Langkow still managed to be a productive offensive weapon for the Flames despite the fact he wasn't always on a line with Jarome Iginla. Really, the only thing that slowed Langkow down as a broken hand suffered in February. Langkow would miss 10 games, but once he returned he never seemed to settle back into an offensive rhythm. He managed just 11 points (five goals) in his final 25 games. Langkow finished with 21 goals and 49 points in 73 games, but his point total was his lowest production since the 1998-99 season with Philadelphia. One area that Cammalleri's presence effected Langkow was on the power play. Langkow had just four power-play scores and it was the first time in four seasons he didn't finish with double-digit power-play tallies. Cammalleri is now in Montreal, so it will be interesting to see how Langkow reacts. He has been a pretty reliable offensive player since joining the Flames in 2005-06 and still should have a prominent role under first-year coach Brent Sutter. Consider Langkow a viable No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy forward Draft Day. (Updated 8/17/09) |
