Fantasy Analysis
Let's not sugar-coat this: His scoring has plummeted in the past two months. After the Oilers' December 2 win over Calgary, his ledger showed 12-14-26 in 25 games. Since then, he's 4-6-10 in 27 games. Fantasy owners who traded for him two months ago, hoping to cash in on a scoring renaissance, have endured a dismal stretch instead. (Updated 02/05/2012).

02/05/2012 01:29 Oilers' Gagner continues points rampage in SO win over Red Wings
Sam Gagner continued to rack up the points and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the shootout winner as the Edmonton Oilers beat the league-leading Detroit Red Wings 5-4 on Saturday night.
Smyth got his wish and was traded back to Edmonton this offseason. The veteran winger has had some of his best seasons with the Oilers, having recorded six seasons of 25 points or more with the Canadian club. His last two seasons with the Kings saw Smyth score 22 and 23 goals, respectively, which may be too much to ask now as Smyth's role with the Oilers may be more of a mentor to the younger players and not the man to go to in must scoring situations.
