Kariya scores in consecutive games: Blues LW Paul Kariya scored a goal, tallied an assist and finished at plus-2 on Wednesday against the Canadiens. Kariya made it 2-0 when he beat Carey Price from behind the net at 3:35. He has scored in two straight games after going 14 games without a score.

We are hoping the coaching change in St. Louis would be the spark Kariya needs to get back on track. We know how valuable of a scoring option he can be for the Blues and Fantasy owners. Let's hope this two-game streak is the start of something big.

| What was supposed to be a minor hip injury turned into a major one for Paul Kariya in 2008-09. It was a real shame too since Kariya got off to a blazing start. The 14-year-veteran posted 13 assists, 15 points and six multi-point outings in his first 11 games before sitting out the rest of the season following hip surgery. In fact, he had surgery on both his hips just to make sure he is in fit shape when the 2009-10 season opens. Kariya is entering the final year of his contract, so he will do what he can to stay on the ice to perhaps earn one more big pay day. He is still a solid offensive player and showed in his brief time last season has point-per-game potential. Kariya is going to be an injury-risk Fantasy sleeper Draft Day. (Updated 8/17/09) |
