Brenden Morrow signs one-year deal with Lightning
The Lightning continued their busy summer by bringing in veteran forward Brenden Morrow on a low-risk, low-money one-year deal.
Lightning Ink Morrow (Foot) To One-Year Deal
Morrow (foot) signed a one-year deal with the Lightning on Friday, Stephen Whyno of The Canadien Press reports.Morrow scored 25 points (13 goals) for the Blues last season before an April foot injury sidelined him for the remainder of the playoff series against the Blackhawks. The 35-year-old will provide depth at the wings for Tampa Bay.
|Brenden Morrow's skills don't even hit the dart board in any consistent way anymore. Sadly, the end is approaching - this may well be his last year and we suspect there will be more than a couple of healthy scratches along the way. He's run up three straight seasons of just 25 or 26 points and is at least a step or two behind the play. Still, the Bolts are hoping he can bring veteran leadership to their young squad - just don't count on him for fantasy value, even in the deepest of leagues. (Updated 8/13/14) |
