Nabokov has nine wins vs. EC: Sharks G Evgeni Nabokov made 32 saves during a 3-2 win against the Maple Leafs on Monday. Nabokov was locked in a 2-all game heading into the third. He made eight saves in the final frame as San Jose put in the winner. He has won three of his last four starts.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Nabokov has won nine times in 12 outings against Eastern Conference teams in 2009-10. He has had great success against Western Conference squads as well and has been a solid Fantasy option. This is nothing new, however. The Sharks have said Nabokov will continue to start plenty down the stretch, so keep him and the Sharks TG active in Fantasy.

| Expect Evgeni Nabokov to make some NHL history very early in the 2009-10 season. With his next victory, Nabokov will become the 38th goalie in NHL history to win 250 career games. The 250th win will also tie him with Hall of Famer Johnny Bower for 37th all-time. It was another successful season for Nabokov in 2008-09. He went 41-12-8 with a 2.44 goals-against-average, .910 save percentage and seven shutouts. Nabokov did all that while being MIA early in the season with a lower-body injury. He was second in the NHL in wins, tied for fourth in shutouts and tied for 12th in GAA. Nabokov, who had seven victories in fourth months last season, hit 30 wins for the fifth time in his career and 40 wins for the second straight year. The 33-year-old netminder is entering his contract year, so he will have a little extra motivation to perform at his highest level in 2009-10. The Sharks will continue to be top contenders, so that makes Nabokov a No. 1 Fantasy goalie. The Sharks TG is also a high-end Fantasy option. (Updated 8/17/09) |
