05/10/2011 17:46 Richards among five Flyers needing surgery
Flyers captain Mike Richards headlines a list of five players that need offseason surgery. Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren made the announcement Tuesday.
Looking back at the 2010-12 season, Betts failed to bring much to the table for the Flyers down the stretch as he managed just a lone point from March until the end of the year, and his ice time dwindled as a result. He required offseason surgery on his finger, but it's not thought to be serious enough to keep him out of training camp in the fall. Betts, however, is buried pretty deep down the depth chart, making his impact in the scoring department likely minimal. (Updated 10/4/11)
