Fantasy Analysis
Saturday's output is a positive end to a miserable season for Brad Boyes, but those who drafted him last fall are only left wondering where that was all season. The two-time 30-goal man finishes 2011-12 with just eight goals and 23 points in 65 games. (Updated 04/07/2012).
03/27/2012 21:38 Sabres overtake Capitals for eighth
Ryan Miller stopped 44 shots, Drew Stafford scored two goals and the surging Buffalo Sabres beat Washington 5-1 Tuesday to climb over the Capitals into the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
03/19/2012 22:11 Big second period powers Sabres
Marcus Foligno and Jason Pominville each scored twice and the Buffalo Sabres beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-3 Monday night.
Boyes came to the Sabres at the trade deadline last year and busted out of the gates with two goals and two assists in his first three games with his new team. And that was as good as it got for Boyes in his new surrounding. He quickly became a whipping boy for fans due to his disappearing act in the playoffs where he was AWOL for the first six games of Buffalo's seven-game loss to Philadelphia. But you can't ignore his regular season numbers or his durability. Because of the trade, Boyes appeared in 83 games last year, notching 55 points (17 G, 38 A). If the Sabres can get that kind of production out of him in 2011-12 they will be thrilled. (Updated 10/4/11)
