Fantasy Analysis
With the Coyotes fighting for a playoff spot, Mike Smith will likely get most, if not all, the starts down the stretch. (Updated 03/25/2012).
03/26/2012 00:02 Elliott, Blues blank Coyotes on road
Brian Elliott made 20 saves for his eighth shutout and St. Louis' franchise-record 14th of the season in the NHL-leading Blues' 4-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday night.
Used to backing up the more-than-capable Ilya Bryzgalov in 2010-11, LaBarbera saw time in 17 games with 15 starts, posting a 7-6-3 record to go along with a .909 save percentage and 3.26-GAA. The 'Yotes have a strong sense of what they're getting in LaBarbera and will likely be inclined to test newcomer Mike Smith early in the season as the coaching staff experiments with their very different netminding situation. Heading into training camp, both LaBarbera and Smith have a chance to win the starting job. (Updated 10/4/11)
