Salo had a mere two points in his first 19 games this season and is always a threat to get injured, but he's clearly on a nice little roll at the moment. Grab him in deeper leagues if you need blue-line help.

| Sami Salo kept true to his unflattering nickname, The Fragile Finn, in 2008-09. Salo once again failed to play a full season due to injury, dressing for just 60 games. He missed time last season due to a broken rib, nagging groin injury, hamstring issues and a shoulder problem. But once again, Salo was pretty productive during the time he spent on the ice. Salo totaled 20 assists and 25 points. He also finished above even for the 10th time in his career with a plus-5 rating. Salo is a solid two-way defenseman for the Canucks and has 30-point ability. But the fact he has never played a full season in his career and hasn't played more than 70 games since 2003-04, Salo remains an injury-risk Fantasy flier. (Updated 8/17/09) |
