Dupuis seals win with empty netter: Penguins RW Pascal Dupuis tallied a goal, assist and plus-2 rating on Monday against the Rangers. Dupuis' empty-netter sealed Pittsburgh's fourth win over the Rangers this season with 39.8 seconds left. He has three goals and five assists in his last eight games.

Dupuis only missed one game last week after getting cut on the face during a game against the Islanders. The injury appears to have no lingering effects as Dupuis remained hot Monday. He is having a nice stretch, but it likely won't last. Dupuis still has low-end Fantasy appeal.

| If you recall, Pascal Dupuis landed in Pittsburgh around the 2007-08 trade deadline as the other player packaged from Atlanta in the Marian Hossa deal. Clearly, he wasn't the marquee name in the deal, but Dupuis has filled his role for the Penguins and helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2008-09. Dupuis primarily plays on the lower lines. He is not a flashy offensive player and posted just 12 goals and 28 points in 71 games last season. However, it was his seventh straight season of 10-plus goals and the sixth season in his career he broke 20 points. Dupuis is also a skilled penalty killer. Dupuis has marginal Fantasy appeal in standard formats and is best used in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats. (Updated 8/24/09) |
