St. Louis has had a very consistent season in 2009-10, even though his numbers aren't what we'd like them to be. Still, he remains a must-start Fantasy option.

| The Lightning were downright awful in 2008-09 but there was one player that never seemed to let his game slip. Martin St. Louis has been a rock solid force with the Lightning for eight seasons now and showed little signs of slowing down last year. He did see his assists total decrease slightly from years past, but for the third straight season he eclipsed the 80-point mark. St. Louis finished the season with 30 goals and 50 assists, three points less than he had in 2007-08. Plenty of Lightning fans would like to see St. Louis moved out of Tampa Bay in favor of some younger talent, but Fantasy owners like things the way they are. St. Louis has not missed a game over the past three seasons and has sat out only twice since the Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2003-04. We could see his numbers slide again slightly in 2009-10, but Fantasy owners should still draft him as a high-end Fantasy forward. (Updated 8/18/09) |
