Fantasy Analysis
It seems unlikely that he'll be offered an opportunity in North America in the near future, but Marty Turco is still trying to hang on in some fashion and would potentially be eligible for NHL teams to consider after the tournament concludes December 18. (Updated 12/12/2011).
05/19/2011 17:32 Blackhawks extend goaltender Crawford three years
The Chicago Blackhawks and Corey Crawford have agreed on a three-year contract after a standout rookie season in which he emerged as their top goalie.
After nine seasons slapping away pucks for the Stars, Turco took his talents to the Windy City in 2010-11, posting an 11-11 record, 3.02 goals-against average and .897 save percentage. But his contract with the Blackhawks was only good for one year, and now the veteran will have to find work elsewhere. Turco is clearly on the downside of his career, though he likely will be considered for work if a team encounters a run-in with the injury bug at the goalie position. (Updated 10/4/11)
