Colaiacovo benched in return: The Sports Xchange reports Blues D Carlo Colaiacovo (lower body) returned from injury Saturday, but he was a healthy scratch against Columbus. He had missed four games.

Colaiacovo hasn't scored in 11 games and has just two assists in that span. It's not surprising the Blues put him in the press box. They hope it sends a wake-up call and Colaiacovo can become a reliable contributor down the stretch. Keep him out of active Fantasy lineups until further notice.

| Sometimes a change of scenery is what a player needs to get his career on track. That was quite evident in 2008-09 with Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo. The 2001 first-round pick (seventh overall) never really found an identity with the team that drafted him -- the Maple Leafs. Toronto finally had enough of Colaiacovo's failed expectations and dealt him to St. Louis in mid-November. The Blues were excited to welcome in the puck-moving defenseman and St. Louis seemed like a perfect fit for the Ontario native. Colaiacovo led all Blues defensemen with 30 points (27 assists), 29 which came after the trade. He was first on the team with 20 power-play assists. Colaiacovo will be motivated heading into his walk year in 2009-10, but he still passes as a low-end Fantasy value Draft Day. He has more value in leagues that reward heavily for defensive assists.
