Leafs' Gleason Set To Play Thursday
Gleason (shoulder) was present at morning skate and looks like he'll be good to go Thursday vs. the Panthers, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.Gleason supplies hits and blocks at a decent rate, but his limited offense output doesn't make him a particularly attractive fantasy commodity. In any case, the few owners who may be counting on him can take comfort in that he'll likely be available Thursday.

Leafs' Gleason Leaves With "Burner"
Gleason left Tuesday's game with a "burner" after going hard head-first into the boards, reports CTV Toronto. He should be OK for the Leafs' next game. Before the trip into the boards, Gleason took a puck to the mouth courtesy of his own goalie. It was a tough night for the tough defender, but it doesn't look like he'll miss any time.
|Tim Gleason, who reportedly played part of last season with a broken foot, was not much of a fantasy factor with just nine points in 41 games. He remains more of a shutdown defender than a guy who can jump into the rush. Last season he was second on the team in shorthanded minutes per game (2:48), hits (90) and blocked shots (64). He is expected to be one of the Hurricanes' top four defenders once again this upcoming season. (Updated 8/12/13) |
