Huselius out again, placed on IR: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius was scratched from Thursday's game against the Thrashers because of an upper-body injury. He has missed the last two games and was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 3. (Updated 11/05/2009).

Upper body - IR. Out until at least mid-November (Updated - 11/7/09)
|
| Fantasy Analysis |
Huselius has just one goal and no assists in his last five games. Perhaps the upper-body injury has been the culprit for his slump after a good start to the season. Huselius is more of a 20-goal than 30-goal threat, but he can definitely put up points in bunches. Consider him a No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward when healthy. (Updated 11/05/2009).

Week 3 Fantasy Hockey Planner
The Rangers continue to provide great Fantasy production while a couple of stars are emerging in Dallas. Our Michael Hurcomb sheds some light on that and shares a few of his favorite sleepers for Week 3 in his Fantasy Hockey Planner.
|
| The Blue Jackets lured Kristian Huselius to Columbus in the 2008 offseason after a very successful three-year tenure with the Flames (190 points in 240 games). Columbus was in desperate need of some secondary scorers behind Rick Nash, and Huselius delivered just that as he finished third on the team with 21 goals. He also finished second to Nash with 56 points. Unfortunately, Huselius just converted 9.9 percent of his shots, his lowest output since 2003-04 with the Panthers. Huselius had some of his best years playing alongside Jarome Iginla in Calgary and no one was surprised to see his production dip in 2008-09. He did play better after the calendar year turned to 2009 with 11 goals and 22 assists in his final 38 games. If he can carry that momentum into 2009-10, Huselius might work his way back up the Fantasy ladder. But he remains more of a No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward Draft Day. (Updated 8/17/09) |
