Hainsey has five points in eight games: Thrashers D Ron Hainsey failed to record a point in 22:55 of ice time and finished at minus-2 on Wednesday against the Bruins. He has one goal and four assists in his last eight games.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Hainsey has been playing his best hockey as of late and is starting to emerge from his season-long slump. It's unfortunate he can't get back on the power play, so Hainsey is going to have to do most of his damage at even strength. Unfortunately, it does take away from Hainsey's Fantasy appeal since he is not always being put in favorable situations. Hainsey is a low-end Fantasy option.

| Defenseman Ron Hainsey made the move from Columbus down to Atlanta after the 2007-08 season and it proved to be the right move for him. He put up a career high in points for Atlanta, with 39 points on six goals and 33 assists. However, his plus-minus rating went down when in Atlanta, posting minus-16 on the year. It was the third straight season he finished with a negative plus-minus rating. Hainsey was rumored to be on the move at the trade deadline last season but that never happened and he is expected to be a big contributor again in 2009-10. The 28-year old D can be taken as a solid No. 5 option on Draft Day. (Updated 8/18/09) |
