Nash picks up two more assists: Blue Jackets LW Rick Nash assisted on Antoine Vermette's goal in the 1st period of the 5-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday. Nash finished with two points in the game as he added another assist on the game's next tally.

Nash had not scored in his previous two games but now has 27 points on the season for the Blue Jackets. Nash is active in 99 percent of Fantasy leagues and that is exactly as it should be.

| There wasn't a situation in 2008-09 that Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash couldn't handle. Put him on the ice during even strength, he lit the lamp. If a goalie blinked on the power play, the puck went flying by. Down a man on the penalty kill, no problem. Nash had his finest season as a NHLer in his sixth season. He recorded career highs in goals (40), assists (39), points (79), plus-minus (11) and short-handed scores (5). He has six multi-goal games, including two hat tricks, and 24 multi-point games. The Blue Jackets locked up Nash with an eight-year contract extension in the offseason and they now have their franchise superstar under contract through the 2017-18 season. Nash has 194 goals and 355 points in 441 career games. He will remain among the elite Fantasy forwards on Draft Day. (Updated 8/17/09) |
