03/05/2013 09:20 Grit, toughness, and building a better fourth line
At some point hockey people -- both those within the game and those that make their living talking and writing about it -- decided that a fourth-liner in the NHL absolutely has to be a certain type of player. And that player doesn't really do much.
03/01/2013 23:28 Blues double up Oilers
Vladmir Sobotka put St. Louis ahead early in the third period and added an assist for the Blues, who rallied from two goals down and beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Friday night.
02/28/2013 23:52 Oilers stomp out Stars
Ales Hemsky scored a goal and two assists, Jeff Petry added a goal and an assist, and Devan Dubnyk made 33 saves in helping the Edmonton Oilers roll to a 5-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night.
Ben Eager actually played 63 games for the Oilers last season and lit the lamp eight times. That being said, he played under nine minutes a game, on average, and saw little to no power play time. He might fill a fourth line role again, but the Oilers have quite a few young players coming up through their system that might push for his job. He's a battler, but he's in tough this season.
