Fantasy Analysis
There's no reason to think he's going to suddenly begin producing on the offensive end. Keith Aulie was recalled from the Marlies, and he could overtake Mike Komisarek for the final blue-line spot while Carl Gunnarsson is banged up. (Updated 02/14/2012).
Will Komisarek get the Finger treatment? As in Jeff Finger, that is? We highly doubt that this slow-footed, way overpaid, Burkie fave will ever find himself demoted to the AHL. We keep hearing Burkie's lips moving over the summer, saying Komisarek is looking great. Right. He's the oldest 29-year-old defender we think we've ever seen. And unless he significantly alters his approach, his fantasy value will be even worse than it was last season when he stiffed at his best category -- PIMs. He will still deliver some hits and blocked shots, but the Leafs' blue line improved without him this summer; he's going to be hard-pressed to impress.
