Panthers' Fleischmann Has A Slow Start To Season
Fleischmann has failed to register any points after the first three games of the season.Fleischmann owners are hoping for a bounce back season this year after seeing only 28 points in 80 games with a minus 18 rating last season. He has started the season playing on the Panthers third line with Sean Bergenheim and Dave Bolland. With Fleischmann not seeing top power play time, he could be in for another disappointing season on a team that has trouble scoring.

|Tomas Fleischmann's production really fell off after consecutive seasons in which he was Florida's top scorer. The 29-year-old has been injury-free for most of his career and health wasn't his problem in 2013-14 - he suffered a career-low shooting percentage and a drop in playing time. That said, he put more shots on net last year than in any season except his career year in 2011-12. If he keeps it up and his shooting percentage ticks back up, he could be in line for a nice improvement and would be a candidate for 20-plus goals and 40-50 points. He will be a sleeper to watch on the Panthers in 2014-15. (Updated 8/13/14) |
