| Fantasy Analysis |
Frolov pretty much vanished after his stellar October (12 points in 13 games), and is only up to 37 points on the season. He has been the subject of trade rumors lately and could find himself on a new team in March. He remains just a starting option in deeper leagues until he can prove to be more consistent. (Updated 02/09/2010).

| Like many Kings in 2008-09, Alexander Frolov had a tough time initially adjusting to first-year coach Terry Murray's defensive system. Murray stresses solid two-way hockey, but ever since Frolov came over from Russia in 2002 the Kings have pretty much just asked him to keep up the offensive effort. But as the season went on and Frolov found his comfort level, he started to produce like old times. He had 30 points (14 goals) in his final 32 games and had his fifth straight season of 20-plus goals. Frolov led the Kings with 32 scores, the third time since 2003-04 he has led the team in goals. Frolov had 14 multi-point outings on the season and Los Angeles was 11-1-2 in those games. He had 59 points on the season and has 50 or more points in four straight seasons. Frolov has totaled 149 goals and 330 points in 455 NHL games. Frolov logged a career-high 12 power-play goals in '08-09 while also totaling a personal best 187:14 of short-handed time. The Russian forward is one of Los Angeles' most valuable skaters, and he certainly will be motivated for another big year in 2009-10 as he heads into the final season of his contract. Frolov is a decent No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy forward. (Updated 8/17/09) |
