Fantasy Analysis
With Warren Peters returning, Jeff Taffe, who has just two appearances with the Wild this season, is no longer needed for depth. Taffe has performed better in the AHL, ranking third on Houston with 32 points in 47 games this season. (Updated 02/20/2012).
12/09/2011 01:21 Wild stay hot, win sixth straight on road
Matt Hackett made 42 saves in his first NHL start and the Minnesota Wild set a franchise record with their sixth straight road victory, beating the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Thursday night.
Taffe is a journeyman who has spent his career bouncing between different clubs within the NHL and AHL. Last season, the depth forward played for AHL Rockford, the Blackhawks' affiliate, and notched 67 points (30 G, 37 A) and 22 penalty minutes in 74 games. The Minnesota native is now under a two-way contract with the Wild, where he almost assuredly will split time between the Wild and AHL Houston. Taffe is not an attractive fantasy option for the 2011-12 season. (Updated 8/16/11)
