Fantasy Analysis
Milan Michalek is just four goals shy of his career high, but has only eight assists on the season. After racking up 30-plus assists for three straight seasons in San Jose, he came to Ottawa and peculiarly just stopped assisting on goals. He's got only 35 assists to go with 62 goals in 171 games as a Senator. But as long as he's putting the puck to the back of the net, it's tough to complain. (Updated 01/10/2012).

01/29/2012 19:06 MVP Gaborik's hat trick leads to win
Marian Gaborik made New York Rangers teammate Henrik Lundqvist pay for not selecting him to play for Daniel Alfredsson's team in the NHL All-Star Game.
Michalek had a slow start to the 2010-11 season as he was still recovering from an MCL injury that ended his previous season early. His skating and leg strength were seriously affected, but as the season wore on, his skating began to return to form as did his offensive numbers. Michalek will once again be one of Ottawa's top-6 forwards, but there's no guarantee that he'll play on a consistent basis with No. 1 center Jason Spezza. If Michalek can avoid the types of injuries that have slowed his career these last few years, he's quite capable of putting up close to 30 goals and 60 points for the 2011-12 season. (Updated 10/4/11)
