| Fantasy Analysis |
Weber has come alive again as soon as the calendar year hit 2010. He didn't score much in November and December, and he began to worry Fantasy owners. But Weber has put all those concerns to bed since January. He has four goals and 12 points in his last 15 games. Weber gets it done at both ends of the ice for Nashville and remains a must-start Fantasy option. (Updated 02/05/2010).

| Shea Weber slipped through the cracks Fantasy Draft Day 2008 largely because he spent a great deal of time on the trainer's table during the 2007-08 season. He was just about to enter his fourth NHL season, but already been hit with the label of damaged goods. However, there was nothing damaged about Weber's performance in 2008-09. He finished second in the NHL among defensive scorers and set a franchise record with 23 goals by a blueliner. He also set personal bests with 30 assists, 53 points, 192 hits and 81 games played. He was the only NHL defender with 175 hits and 50 points. Weber was proficient on the power play with a team-high 10 goals and also came up in the clutch with four game-winning scores. His 10 goals in the Predators' first 20 games made him the first NHL defensemen to reach double figures in a season that quickly since 1987-88, when Buffalo's Phil Housley scored his 10th goal in the 15th game and Toronto's Al Iafrate did it in 19 games. Weber also surpassed his point total from the 2007-08 season (20) in just 21 games. He totaled 10 or more points in three months and elevated himself to the ranks of the NHL's top two-way defenders. He will be a high-end Fantasy option Draft Day 2009. (Updated 8/17/09) |
