Horton sidelined 4-6 weeks: Panthers RW Nathan Horton will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured tibia. Panthers GM Randy Sexton on Saturday said Horton's injury doesn't require surgery. Some of his recovery will occur during the NHL's Olympic break in February, which Sexton called a "silver lining." (Updated 01/23/2010).

| Fantasy Analysis |
On Friday night, coach Pete DeBoer said he wasn't too concerned about Horton's injury. Good thing he's not a doctor. This is a huge blow for Florida's playoffs hopes, but at least Horton won't miss any games while the Olympics are going on, so it could have been a lot worse. Horton was having a great season before this injury, so make sure to stash him away in all formats while he heals up. (Updated 01/23/2010).

| Who says Nathan Horton isn't a team player? When coach Peter DeBoer replaced Jacques Martin after the 2007-08 season, he asked Horton to move to center since the team was heavy at winger. Horton obliged for the betterment of the team, even though it ended up costing him more scoring chances. However, thanks to some offseason moves, Horton is headed back to the wing where the Florida coaching staff thinks he will be more aggressive at shooting the puck. Horton, who missed time in 2008-09 with a finger injury, totaled 22 goals and 45 points in 67 games. It was the first time in three seasons he failed to record 62 points. Horton was also at minus-5, his lowest mark since his rookie season in 2003-04. Horton did have a career-high five game-winning goals and the 24-year-old forward is still vital to the Panthers' offensive attack. Horton is projecting as a No. 5 Fantasy forward Draft Day, but with the move back to the wing, he becomes a top bounce-back candidate as well. There is 30-goal potential here with Horton.
