Richards (upper body) is scheduled to play in Saturday's Game 5 against the Blackhawks.Just a day ago, coach Darryl Sutter claimed Richards was "really doubtful at best" for Saturday's tilt, but it looks like the 28-year-old will return for Game 5 following a three-game absence. Richards (upper body) is taking warmup prior to Saturday's Game 5 against the Blackhawks, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.Though coach Darryl Sutter had said Richards was "really doubtful at best" to play Saturday, the 28-year-old center took line rushes during morning skate and is on the ice for pregame warmups. It's uncertain, however, whether he'll be active or instead miss a fourth straight game.
Mike Richards had a rough regular season, battling a concussion and some inconsistent linemates on the way to 44 points (18 G, 26 A) in 74 . He went through a long stretch without a goal in 25 games at the start of 2011, but seemed to click once the team acquired his buddy Jeff Carter from the Blue Jackets. He figures to be much better this season with Carter riding shotgun alongside him. (Updated 8/14/12)
