Fantasy Analysis
Well, you can't play much worse than that as a center. Kyle Brodziak had actually been productive of late, as he posted a six-game points streak in the latter half of January and early February. (Updated 02/09/2012).
02/11/2012 22:43 Wisniewski scores for Jackets in return
R.J. Umberger scored two goals, one on a power play with 21 seconds left in the second period to send the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-1 victory over the stumbling Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.
02/09/2012 14:19 Wild captain Koivu returns to lineup
Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu returned to the lineup on Thursday night after missing eight games because of an injured left shoulder.
02/02/2012 23:53 Backstrom, Wild shut out Avalanche
Niklas Backstrom had 37 saves for his third shutout of the season and 25th of his NHL career, and Greg Zanon scored in the Minnesota Wild's 1-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night.
01/31/2012 23:03 Predators score three late to upend Wild
Mike Fisher scored two of Nashville's three goals in the last 3 1/2 minutes and the Predators stunned the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Tuesday for their fifth straight victory.
Brodziak is a solid two-way center for the Green and Red. In 2010-11, he finished second on the Wild with 48 takeaways and established new career highs in goals (16), points (37) and penalty minutes (56). The one knock on him is that he does not receive much time on the man advantage, though he did average a full minute longer on the power play in 2010-11 (1:16) than the year before - 0:16. As long as you don't expect Brodziak to be a fantasy hero on a nightly basis, there should be little risk using him as a sleeper pick in the late rounds of most fantasy drafts. (Updated 10/4/11)
