Ruutu has produced 25 points (11 goals) in 39 games for Carolina. His points usually come in bunches, so is definitely an unpredictable Fantasy option when healthy.

| Carolina C Tuomo Ruutu put up his best career numbers as a pro in his first full season with the Hurricanes. For his efforts, the Hurricanes re-signed him in the summer for three more seasons. He posted career highs in 2008-09 with 54 points including 26 goals and 28 assists. Ruutu was at his best during the stretch run of last season with 37 points in his final 31 games of the season. He flourished once Paul Maurice took over in Carolina and Maurice is back with the Hurricanes for the 2009-10 season. Ruutu has the potential to develop even more this season but should only be thought of as a low-end Fantasy forward come Draft Day. (Updated 8/18/09) |
