Semin has points in 11 of 12 games: Capitals LW Alexander Semin scored a goal and tallied an assist on Friday against the Thrashers. Semin picked up his 26th goal 3:52 into the third as he gave Washington a 3-1 lead. Semin has managed points in 11 of his last 12 games. He has seven goals and 12 assists in that span.

Semin had his first 20-point month of the season when he racked up 11 goals and 12 assists in 15 January games. No one has ever doubted Semin's talents. His biggest obstacle has always been staying healthy. He is fine now, so keep Semin active in all Fantasy formats.

| Capitals LW Alexander Semin is coming off of the best season of his career despite missing 20 games due to injuries. Semin set career highs in points (79) and assists (45) in 2008-09, scoring 34 goals. He is a strong presence on the second line for the Capitals and is sometimes overlooked because of the overwhelming presence of Alex Ovechkin on the top line. Semin became a point-per-game player last season and the Capitals are expected to be improved in 2009-10. Semin had a strong finish to the season with 26 points in his final 20 regular season games. If Semin can stay healthy this season, he could be in line for his highest point total to date. He should be considered a high-end Fantasy forward on Draft Day. (Updated 8/18/09) |
