Fantasy Analysis
Ryan Whitney had no problem stating that there were others who should've been scratched before him. If Whitney's play hadn't made him unlikely to return to Edmonton next season, his words more than likely have. (Updated 4/28/13).
03/10/2013 22:06 Oilers deal Blackhawks second successive loss
Sam Gagner scored two of Edmonton's four goals in the first period and the Oilers beat Chicago 6-5 on Sunday night, sending the Blackhawks to their second consecutive loss after their record-breaking start.
03/05/2013 22:35 Goalie Bobrovsky's strong play off bench saves Jackets in SO
Sergei Bobrovsky, replacing an ineffective Steve Mason, made two spectacular short-handed saves in overtime and stopped both shots he faced in the shootout to lift the Columbus Blue Jackets over the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Tuesday night.
Ryan Whitney has the skills to be a solid fantasy defenseman, but his inability to stay on the ice makes him a risky proposition for owners. With the Oilers offense, he could rack up loads of points as the quarterback of the power play. But he has only played 86 games the past two seasons combined and has missed significant chunks of three of the past four seasons. Bottom line, when healthy he can help your fantasy team, but it's definitely a buyer beware situation. (Updated 8/14/12)
