Fantasy Analysis
The addition of Kyle Quincey ate into his playing time down the stretch, and the Wings would like to see more grit from Jakub Kindl if he's going to stick on their blue line. If he's a part of the plan in 2012-13, look for him to work as half of the team's third defensive pairing. As a depth option, he could simply continue to serve as the seventh blueliner next season and become the first option in should injuries strike. Kindl had 13 points (1 G, 12 A) and a plus-7 rating in 55 games this season. (Updated 04/23/2012).
03/04/2012 18:55 Sharp, Kane lead Blackhawks to win
Patrick Sharp had a goal and an assist, and Patrick Kane broke a tie late in the second period in the Chicago Blackhawks' 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Sunday.
Kindl was limited to 48 games with the Wings during his first full NHL campaign, but head coach Mike Babcock was pleased with the transformation of the former first-round pick as the season rolled along. Although he showed the ability to contribute at the offensive end during his time in junior hockey, Kindl enters training camp battling for the final spot in the team's top-six blueline corps and he'll be pushed by prospect Brendan Smith and veteran Mike Commodore for ice time early on.
