Comeau Signs With Penguins
The Penguins have signed Comeau to a one-year deal worth $700,000, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.Comeau, who recorded 16 points in 61 games for the Blue Jackets this past season, is a solid depth signing for Pittsburgh, where he figures to fill a bottom-six forward role for the team.
|Pittsburgh liked what it saw from Blake Comeau so much in last year's playoffs that the organization signed him to a one-year deal in the off-season. As an energy guy, the forward dished out a career-high 197 hits in 61 contests for Columbus. He once scored 46 points for the Islanders back in 2010-11, but it's more likely he serves as a grinder with the Pens. If and when injuries strike, Comeau could serve as a useful pickup in fantasy leagues using hits as a category. Otherwise, poolies can look elsewhere for more consistent production.
