Canucks' Edler Out With Knee Injury
Edler is out indefinitely with what is now being reported as a knee injury, Team 1040 reports.GM Mike Gillis can't predict the timeframe for Edler's return, but we should get some closure in the coming days. It may be time to cut ties with Edler in shallower formats. He has big time fantasy potential, but hasn't got it done this season, posting only nine points and a minus-12 rating in 27 games.
Canucks' Edler Out Indefinitely
Edler is still being evaluated and is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, the Vancouver Sun's Brad Ziemer reports.Edler won't play Friday against the Coyotes, meaning Andrew Alberts will take his place in the lineup. We should get some more information on Edler's injury after he gets evaluated on Thursday.
Canucks' Edler Misses Practice Thursday
Edler (lower body) was not at practice Thursday, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.Although the Canucks are calling Edler day-to-day, his absence from practice would seem to make him doubtful to play Friday vs. the Coyotes, though the team has yet to indicate one way or another. Edler has been a huge disappointment for fantasy owners with just nine points and a minus-12 rating on the season.
Canucks' Edler Day-To-Day
Edler is day-to-day with a lower body injury.Edler left Tuesday's game against Nashville and didn't return. The severity and the specific type of injury is unknown at this time, but coach John Tortorella did mention it is lower body. Edler played 7:28 on Tuesday before leaving with the injury. He has struggled this season, posting only nine points and a minus-12 rating in 27 games on the year.
Kesler scores twice, Canucks beat Predators 3-1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Ryan Kesler is finding his scoring touch, and that is very good news for the Vancouver Canucks.
|After putting together a career-best campaign the previous season, Alexander Edler took a step back last year. He finished with 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 45 games his lowest scoring pace since the 2008-09 season while posting the first negative plus-minus rating of his career. But despite the overall drop in production, Edler still managed to light the lamp at the highest clip of his career. At 27, hes still in the prime of his career, so we predict a bounce back campaign from the Swedish blueliner. And while he may miss the occasional defensive assignment, theres not denying his offensive ability from the blue line. Edler is once again cemented in one of the Canucks top pairing and will see ample time on the man advantage. (Updated 8/12/13) |
