Schremp opened last season with the Islanders before being claimed off waivers by the Thrashers, and he actually totaled a career-high 26 points over 63 games with both squads. However, he was not offered a qualifying this offer and became a free agent. Rather than fill a reserve spot on an NHL team, Schremp will head to Sweden to see if he can make a bigger impact.
