Fantasy Analysis
It wasn't all negative for Mikko Koivu, but the stats looked ugly as he took two penalties chasing Chicago's Jonathan Toews in addition to an early roughing call. Koivu has to be better if Minnesota is going to continue in the playoffs. (Updated 5/3/13).

Various injuries and a slow start conspired to limit Mikko Koivus effectiveness last season, but the crafty pivot still managed 44 points in 55 games despite stretches of futility. You generally know what youre going to get with Koivu: a plethora of assists and a handful of goals. The difference this season is that he will have Zach Parise, a consistent 30-goal scorer, on his wing. Koivus value certainly sees a bump with his new teammate, just dont overpay expecting a monster season. Another 60-point season is certainly possible for the consistent center. (Updated 8/14/12)
