Stastny Leads Blues To Victory

News: Paul Stastny scored the game-winning goal, had an assist and recorded five shots on goal Saturday against the Oilers.
Analysis: A strong outing from Paul Stastny, who has compiled 12 goals and 36 points in 54 games on the season. While he skates on the third line, the 29-year-old is a reliable all-around fantasy option, contributing five game-winning goals, a plus-11 rating and 26 PIM. While he may be in the Blues' bottom-six right now, Stastny plays on the top power-play unit and is a reliable scorer.

Blues' Stastny Grabs Assist In Win

News: Paul Stastny picked up an assist Thursday in a 2-1 shootout win over the Jets. He was plus-1 with two shots and a hit in the contest.
Analysis: Paul Stastny broke a mini three-game slump, but he has been a different player since December 1, recording 27 of his season total 34 points in 37 games since then - a 60-point pace. While he continues to center the third line, the Blues have the depth of talent to ensure he has solid linemates and he is seeing significant time on the power play. He is the same kind of fantasy asset that he was with Colorado last year.

Blues' Stastny Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Paul Stastny had an assist on the Blues' lone goal Wednesday in a 4-1 loss to Dallas. He was otherwise held completely off the scoresheet.
Analysis: His time lining up with Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz only lasted through the first period last night. We'll have to see how coach Ken Hitchcock lines up his forwards for Friday's tilt with Boston. Regardless, Paul Stastny has been playing well of late, with seven points in his last nine games.

Blues' Stastny To Center Schwartz And Tarasenko

News: Paul Stastny will switch lines and center wingers Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko for Tuesday's game against Dallas, reports Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Analysis: Coach Ken Hitchcock has dubbed the move "an experiment," but if Paul Stastny clicks with the two young snipers he could see a boost in his production. Tarasenko leads the Blues with 29 goals, while Schwartz notched his 20th in their game Sunday. Stastny has 19 points in his last 22 games.

Blus' Stastny Scores In Win

News: Paul Stastny scored his 11th goal of the season Thursday against Tampa Bay. He was plus-1, took four shots, and added one hit in the contest.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has been rolling lately with eight points in his last 10 games. He is playing right now with Patrik Berglund and Dmitrij Jaskin and they seem to be finding success together. Stastny's fantasy owners are seeing the yield they were hoping for when he signed with the deep and talented Blues squad in the offseason.

Point Streak Hits Five For Blues' Stastny

News: Paul Stastny extended his point streak to five games in Sunday's loss to the Blackhawks, picking up a secondary assist on Vladimir Tarasenko's second-period goal.
Analysis: Going back to Jan. 19, Paul Stastny has scored in seven of the last eight games, providing exactly one point on each occasion. The 29-year-old had difficulty finding a niche with his new team earlier this season, but seems to have settled in nicely of late.

Blues' Stastny Grabs Assist In Win

News: Paul Stastny picked up an assist Tuesday in a 2-1 overtime win over Tampa Bay. He was plus-1 on the night.
Analysis: Paul Stastny is quietly playing very well right now with assists in four of his past five games. Since January 1, Stastny has racked up 12 of his 29 points on the season in 13 games. He is lining up with Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko while teammate Jori Lehtera recovers from a concussion, which makes Stastny a good addition to any lineup.

Blues' Stastny Picks Up Assist

News: Paul Stastny notched an assist and attempted five shots on goal in Saturday's win over the Capitals.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has temporarily taken over as the Blues' second-line center while Jori Lehtera contends with an upper-body injury. A placement next to Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko could be exactly what Stastny needs to ignite in what has been a down season for him. He's notched nine goals and 27 points in 41 games, off the pace of the 60-point campaign he delivered for the Avs a season earlier.

Blues' Stastny Dominates Faceoffs

News: Paul Stastny won 13 of his 15 faceoffs in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Paul Stastny was absent in the points column for the third straight game, but was at least able to help out those in leagues that count faceoff victories. Stastny has been especially proficient in that regard this season, winning 58.1 percent of his draws.

Blues' Stastny Keeps Streaking With Assist In Win

News: Paul Stastny picked up an assist Saturday in a shootout win over Carolina to move his points steak to five games. He was minus-1 and took one shot in the game.
Analysis: Paul Stastny's slow start to the season is in the rearview mirror now as he has posted eight points in five January games to bring his season total to 24 points in 34 games. The Blues' offense is going nuts right now and Stastny has been taking advantage. He should be a strong play for the remainder of the season.

Stastny Tallies Two More Points For Blues

News: Paul Stastny kept things rolling with his third consecutive two-point game Thursday, potting a goal and an assist in a win over the Sharks.
Analysis: He's got a four-game point streak overall and 10 points over seven games since Christmas. Players around the league have to be asking what was under Paul Stastny's Christmas tree -- rocket shoes?

Blues' Stastny Grabs Two Points

News: Paul Stastny opened the scoring with what turned out to be the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 6-0 rout of Arizona.
Analysis: While Paul Stastny struggled a bit with injury and inconsistency early on here in his first-ever season outside of Colorado, he's heated up dramatically of late. Tuesday's performance gives him eight points and a plus-6 rating over the last six games, though the goal was his first since Dec. 11.

Blues' Stastny Collects Two Helpers

News: Paul Stastny picked up a pair of assists in Saturday's win over the Sharks.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has picked up his play of late, recording six points (all assists) in his last five games. He continues to see plenty of ice time and is now up to 19 points (seven goals) in 31 games on the season. While he's worth adding in deeper leagues right now, we need to see more consistent production from him before we can recommend him in shallower formats. Stastny's recent play indicates he is trending upwards, however, so keep an eye on him.

Blues' Stastny Picks Up Assist Friday

News: Paul Stastny picked up an assist Friday in a loss to Anaheim. He was plus-1, had two PIM, and put two shots on net on the night.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has been playing better of late with four points in his past four games. He skated much of Friday's game with Jori Lehtera and Vladimir Tarasenko, which will help Stastny put points on the board.

Blues' Stastny Assists Twice Monday

News: Paul Stastny picked up two assists in Monday's win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Paul Stastny isn't quite slumping like he was in the early part of the season, but he certainly hasn't bounced back to the level many fantasy owners were expecting from him. After racking up four goals and an assist over his first five December contests, Stastny hasn't scored a goal and has four points in the seven games since. His seven goals put him on track for his worst output in that category for a full season since the 2008-09 campaign.

Blues' Stastny Bags Power-Play Marker

News: Paul Stastny notched a power-play goal in Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Islanders.
Analysis: Paul Stastny seems to have settled into a nice groove in December after a tepid start to the season, as he's netted four goals over his last three games. If he can maintain close to a point-per-game pace the rest of the way, the Blues will have as fearsome of an offensive attack as any in the league.

Blues Stastny Scores PPG Thursday

News: Paul Stastny scored a power-play goal Thursday in a win over the Islanders. He was plus-1 and took one shot.
Analysis: Paul Stastny was slowed by his injury earlier in the season and only has 12 points in 21 games, but is on fire of late with four goals and five points in a four-game point streak.

Blues' Stastny Pots Empty-Netter

News: Paul Stastny potted an empty-net goal in Monday's 4-2 win over the visiting Panthers. He now has six goals on the season and four points in the last three games.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has come alive of late, with a couple fortunate bounces going his way. He's now up to 11 points, 14 PIM, 43 SOG and a minus-2 rating in 20 games this year, and with six points in the last eight games, it appears Stastny may finally be adjusting to life in the Show Me State.

Two Tallies For Blues' Stastny In Win

News: Paul Stastny potted two goals -- including the game-winner -- in Saturday's 6-4 defeat of the Islanders.
Analysis: Despite enjoying his most productive game of the season, Paul Stastny has still been a massive letdown since joining the Blues in the offseason. He's notched just five goals and 10 points in 19 games and has seen his average ice time drop a full two minutes for a season ago with the Avs.

Blues' Stastny Pots Goal In Victory

News: Paul Stastny found the net for the third time this season in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Paul Stastny's empty-netter in the game's final minute was largely inconsequential, but at least gave the center an opportunity to give something back to fantasy owners after providing precious little to date. Though Stastny was the Blues' most high-profile offseason acquisition at center, discount pickup Jori Lehtera has been the far better performer for the Blues, making minutes a little scarcer than anticipated for Stastny. The 28-year-old is averaging two and a half minutes fewer ice time with the Blues than he enjoyed with the Avs a season ago, producing six points and a minus-5 rating over 13 games.

Blues' Stastny Scores Game-Winner

News: Paul Stastny potted the game-winning goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime victory over the Predators.
Analysis: The goal came on Paul Stastny's lone shot of the game and marked his first point since returning from injured reserve three games earlier. The struggling Stastny saw just 11:57 of action with the Blues having all their forwards at full health, but look for his ice time to rise once he becomes further removed from the upper-body injury.

Blues' Stastny Held Pointless In Third Straight

News: Paul Stastny was held without a point in 18:17 of ice time Tuesday in a 6-1 win over Buffalo. He failed to register a shot and only won 38% of his face offs in the contest.
Analysis: Paul Stastny has now gone three straight games without a point since his return from an upper body injury. While he is back up to a regular shift he is clearly not up to speed. Patience will be required with the Blues' center as he works his way back following a two week absence.

News: Paul Stastny (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: With Paul Stastny officially reinstated to the Blues' 23-man roster, he'll be cleared to return to the lineup Thursday for his first game since Oct. 18. Stastny had a goal and three assists over four games prior to suffering the injury.

Blues' Stastny Confirms He'll Play Thursday

News: Paul Stastny (upper body) confirmed after the Blues' morning skate that he would play Thursday against the Devils, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blues will still need to officially activate Paul Stastny from injured reserve, but that's just a mere formality at this point. Stastny was a full participant in morning skate and doesn't look like he'll face any limitations in his return from a nearly three-week absence. He's expected to center the Blues' second line, joined by Alexander Steen and Joakim Lindstrom.

Blues' Stastny Likely Returning Thursday

News: Paul Stastny (upper body) will likely play in Thursday's game against the Devils, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Paul Stastny skated on a regular line and got in power play work during Thursday's morning skate, which are both indications he will return to action Thursday. Expect an update on Stastny's status when the Blues make an official decision on his availability for Thursday night.
